The recording in September and the three wonderful concerts with Bach’s Mass in B minor under the direction of Andrea Marcon in Locarno, Palermo and La Chaux-de-Fonds still resonate.
We received a wonderful review of the concert in La Chaux-de-Fonds with Bach’s Mass in B minor on 22 October 2023:
“…Already in the Kyrie Andrea Marcon gently makes his mark (marvellous legato in the strings)…: The conductor of La Cetra is building an architecture of which the Kyrie is only a foundation. In the Salle de Musique, he builds his cathedral of music stone by stone. A cathedral whose apex is the Crucifixus, which, with its nails driven by the sharp strings, is incredibly powerful. A very personal solo violin, woodwinds with almost Berliozian energy, shimmering trumpets, an almost cheerful horn. (…)
Vocally, it is the same enchantment. The twenty singers of La Cetra captivate with virtuosity, listening to each other and articulation (…)
