Graphic concept

Together with Studio Geissbühler in Zurich, we developed a new corporate design in 2015, which we would like to briefly present here.

The writing

La Cetra Barockorchester & Vokalensemble Basel stands for the tradition of early music, which surprises again and again through the passion of each individual orchestra and vocal ensemble member and the virtuoso handling. This tradition and the classical values can be found in the classical writing Caslon. The virtuosity, melody, harmony and or disharmony is supported by the omission of individual letter elements. Each word is cut differently and thus a unified image emerges, but it is never quite the same. Just like La Cetra: every concert is different in its own way.

The pattern

The pattern in the backgrounds comes from the lute, a central musical instrument in baroque music. Filigree and with attention to detail, the lute pattern supports the visual appearance. Here, too, the rule is: each one is different.
