Bach’s masterpieces as the programmatic focus of La Cetra
La Cetra is not only known for its interpretation of Italian opera and instrumental music, but also cultivates a great love for Johann Sebastian Bach’s music.
After the great success of our last CD production with Monteverdi’s “Vespro di Natale“, released by Deutsche Grammophon in autumn 2022, we are recording one of the most important works in music history in autumn 2023:
Following the recording in autumn 2023, La Cetra will perform the B minor Mass at three renowned concert venues:
at the Settimane Musicali di Ascona, at the Salle de Musique in La Chaux-de-Fonds and at the Settimana Musica Sacra di Monreale in the famous cathedral near Palermo.

Your donation will enable La Cetra Basel, one of the world’s leading baroque orchestras, to record this unique work in all its glory on CD.
As a small thank you for your donation, you will receive a CD signed by Andrea Marcon.
For your donation of 250 CHF or more, you will receive seats for one of the concerts in Ascona, La Chaux-de-Fonds or in Monreale.
For CHF 500 or more, you are also invited to one of the recording sessions at St. Martin’s Church in Basel, where you can look “over the shoulders” of the sound engineer.
