The La Cetra Vocal Ensemble takes an in-depth look at the performance of Renaissance music as well as performance practices of the time. In this performance, experts sing impromptu polyphony based on various melodies and themes, introducing the audience to improvisation techniques from the period.

WORKSHOP “Contrapunto alla mente: music without writing” with La Cetra Vokalensemble Basel.
This workshop is about the study of music without writing. Starting with solmisation, hexachord and simple canons, various improvisation techniques will be introduced. From simple systems to more complex ones. Previous knowledge is not necessary – improvisation is also possible by listening.
