Baroque music for everyone!

Have you always wanted to be on stage with La Cetra and immerse yourself in baroque music?
Are you between 12 and 99 years old and play a string instrument or recorder, baroque oboe, baroque bassoon, horn and flute? Or has your violin been gathering dust in the corner for a long time? Sign up alone or with friends and family members for our participatory orchestra project.
Join Handel Prize winner Andrea Marcon and our La Cetra musicians to perform festive music by G. F. Handel: the Concerto grosso in G major HWV 319 combined with movements from the Water Music and the Fireworks Music.

Saturday, 15 June 2024: 2-5 p.m.
First joint meeting and information event – also for those who are still undecided! Tutti rehearsal with members of La Cetra and getting to know each other

Sunday, 15 September: all-day rehearsal day
with members of La Cetra, conducted by Andrea Marcon
Tutti and register rehearsals (under the direction of the La Cetra principals)

Sunday, 22 September: all-day rehearsal day
with members of La Cetra, conducted by Andrea Marcon

Sunday, 13 October: all-day rehearsal day
with members of La Cetra, conducted by Andrea Marcon

Sunday, 20 October:
Dress rehearsal & at 5 pm concert in the Martinskirche Basel

G. F. Händel: Suite from Water Music HWV 348, 349, 350 (excerpts)
G. F. Händel: Concerto grosso op. 6 No. 1, G major, HWV 319
G. F. Händel: Fireworks Music, HWV 351

Playing level:
Violin & viola: secure mastery of 1st and 3rd position.
Cello: 1st to 4th position
Baroque bows will be provided on request (optional).

Information about the wind instruments will follow.

Tuning pitch: 440 Hz

Participation fee for adults: 50 CHF
