„What the Basel Baroque Orchestra “La Cetra” presented together with the associated vocal ensemble as “Venetian Vespers” at the Early Music Festival Zurich was a magnificent reconstruction by its musical director Andrea Marcon…. The singers and instrumentalists of “La Cetra” model this play of forms in an extremely disciplined way. … It is as analytical as it is pleasurable, the sounds are restrained and at the same time musically exalted. … In addition to these outstanding moments, the instrumentalists and singers perform over 90 minutes with consistently rigorous but always unstrained fluid phrasing and wonderful tonal awareness. Almost as if this Vespers was written for them.”
