“Under the direction of Andrea Marcon, an expert in Italian early music, the baroque orchestra “La Cetra” with the Vokalensemble Basel and the soloists Robin Johannsen (soprano), Andreas Wolf (bass), Carlos Meana (alto) and Rupert Charlesworth (tenor) “resonantly” filled the packed church. The church acoustics provided the heavenly character of the oratorio. Excellent was the vocal performance of soloists and choir. The Messiah-experienced audience let themselves be carried away by the close-to-the-original interpretation and was extremely enthusiastic at the end.”
