La Cetra Barockorchester & Vokalensemble

Press commentary
La Cetra’s relaxed trumpet flourishes, nonchalant rhythmical inégales and timely thundering timpani during the Introduzione instantly establish the attractiveness of Caldara’s music. (…) oboes and bassoons sparkle playfully (…) There’s no disputing the qualities of Andrea Marcon’s crisply directed performance.
David Vickers for Gramophone Magazine, December 2014
Brilliant realisation of a musical-dramatic lightweight
The realisation is a double joy for me – finally a full-length Caldara again, (there are few complete works by him on the market) and finally a CD with one of my absolute favourite ensembles, the baroque orchestra La Centra (sic!) Basel, which has changed astonishingly for this; the gruff, gruff gesture of the Mozart albums has given way here to a more pleasing tone, very fitting for Caldara’s style.
Matthias Käther, Kulturradio rbb in November 2014
A fine recording of a wellnigh impossible work.
