La Cetra and Andrea Marcon’s expertise and love for Monteverdi’s music is well known. The Christmas highlight of 2023 will be La Cetra’s (first!) performance of the famous Vespro della Beata Vergine. La Cetra performs the grandiose Vespers of the Virgin Mary in a large, magnificent cast – with 24 singers of the La Cetra Vocal Ensemble, radiant trombones and tines, and three lutes, as described by historical sources for performances in St Mark’s Basilica in Venice.
